Unicorn on a rainbow

Heya my dear friends!
Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Cards und More blog. This time we would like to see projects with "Rainbows" and I made this card to get you in the mood for it ;o)

I masked the first part of the sentiment "Be happier" with a Molotow Masking Pen, that a dear friend has given to me the other week. After that was dried I added my color over it. I did use Faber Castell Pencils because I love the vibrant colours so much. But I have to say that I would use regular watercolour if I were to make this card again, because the hard tip of the pencil did damaged the masking a little bit, so that the letters didn't stay completely white.

While the rainbow dried, I had the time to stamp, color and fussy cut the unicorn and the cake. About an hour or so later I dared to remove the masking fluid and to my surprise it worked really well. (A while back I had tried some different masking fluid and that did not work well at all. While removing it I damaged the paper, no matter how I tried to do it, and thus ruined my backgrounds and images. Therefore I am a little apprehensive now when it comes to liquid masking, but this time it worked like a charm...)

To finish the card of I cut a piece of patterned paper to the same size as my card base and glued it on. Next I stamped the rest of the sentiment below the rainbow, die cut the piece with a stitched die and adhered it right on top of the blue paper. Now all I had to do was to glue the unicorn and the cake down using foam tape and to put loads of glitter on my card. Here was my second mistake of the day: I wanted the letters to have a bit of shine as well, so I added Clear Wink of Stella to them. For some reason I thought it might be a great idea to squeeze the pen a little, so it would go faster or something, but that was not my best idea ever. I had too much glitter in the brush and it came out all at once in one big blop. I managed to soak it up, but one letter was now a lot darker than the others so I had to add loads of glitter to the other letters as well to make them all look the same. Let's just say that I will need a new Clear Wink of Stella a lot sooner than I had expected.
